i love hardcore punk music but i am 16 and no one in my town in texas seems to like what i like. Also their is no concerts here , i probably have to travel all the way to Austin for music with no car.=[ Any suggestions
I would say make some friends that like all kinds of music an from time to time exchange the stuff you listen to with them. That way if theres a show outside your area that you would like to go to youve got friends to go with. As for shows if you know any local bands (rock, metal, alternative what ever) try an find a space an throw some shows... that way you could possibly invite other bands from outside your area to come an play. Its damn near like building a scene from the ground up. It all takes some time so be patient and persistent with what ever you decide to do.
Girl, Ive been where you have been. I grew up in a suburb outside of Ft. Worth, and to say the least, it was kind of bland. But, one day I wore a Bad Brains T-shirt, and this guy came up to me and was like hey you are into them to which I replied Yeah! We got to talking and found out we liked alot of the same bands, and then he introduced me to his friends, and we started going to shows together. So moral of the story is dont stop listening, express yourself the way you want and someone will notice and try to be your friend, and then you all can carpool ;)
what town do you live in? maybe somebody can point you in the right direction for some contacts. my sister had the same problem in Tyler, & she wasn't even looking for shit that was that underground.
