Thanks Dexter and Blu girl for the feedback!

I have a juicer but its sooo big and bulky, it discourages me from using it, i need to find one thats more applicable for my living space. Yes, i dont think i can ever give up the Cheese.

Vegan soul? Hmmmmm ,that sounds wonderful! I will check tha tout

Cheese keeps me from being vegan. There are good vegan meat substitutes but I have yet to find anything that melts like real cheese. I made burritos last week with shredded soy cheese from Trader Joe's and I was so disappointed.

@EclecticEssence: I like to do a weekend juice fast a few times a year when I'm able to stay home and take it easy. If you have a juicer, get some apples, oranges, carrots, celery, kale, cucumbers, grapes, a pineapple, and beets. Try different juice combinations but make sure to have at least four drinks a day over the two days. Delicious, filling, and detoxifying! For your first day back on solid food, eat fruit and lightly dressed salads.

fish has definitely been the most difficult 4 me 2 give up. i gave it up 4 a while & then fell off the wagon but i think it was from laziness more than anything else. since i've given it up again it's made me try new recipes. my advice is 2 take ur time & do it when ur ready. in the meantime start trying some other recipes. a good book i've gotten recently is vegan soul kitchen.

I am editor of the lifestyles section of a new ezine called IndyBlackOut.com. I am doing a story on Vegan/Veggie and the growing popularity in the Afro society. I need two people to interview. If you are willing to answer a few questions for me by phone or via email, please email me at rubyleonne@gmail.com or on AP e-mail. Thanks!

whoop whoop edamame!lol

@ purplestarhaze the best advice i can give is to not do anything to drastic.dont try to cut ALL the meat out of your diet at one time, instead drop red meat but keep chicken and fish, and then gradually drop chicken and then fish.also try to incorporate meat alternatives in your diet. try garden burgers and soy nuggets!theres usually a section in the frozen food aisle dedicated to things like these. ( also while your dropping those bad habbits pick up new ones! up your fruit and veggie intake.dark greens are your friend!) its also important to have support (like this community) a lot of people will question your decision and if your not fully grounded and informed about why this is the best move for you,its easy to fall off and also try and change the way you view meals. the majority of americans view some sort of meat as a necessity in order to have a "real meal".but thats not true! theirs a variety of satisfying and filling entrees that make you forget your even eating vegetarian/vegan.good luck on your journey
peace and love

okay, well long story short.. when I was little a had to a large amount of veggies in my diet to keep my from getting sick. as I got older i started eating meat and now, I'm feeling the "pain" if you get what i'm saying.. so, Now being 26 I want to start this year off right by changing my diet. Because, I guess since I've been eating meat for so long I feel like I'm addicted to it. If you have any feedback please message me. Peace.
