It's better for the my health, the environment and of course the critters :D
i became vegetarian, because I found out what they do to the animals, didn't like so I stopped eating meat
so I have been vegetarian for 3 going on 4 years, also it helps the enviroment
My mother was on a strict vegetable diet, mainly asparagus. Growing up I ate my share of many meats and then it consistently became an issue for me to consume them. I didn't even eat hamburgers until 11th grade and the I quit in 12th. More mental than anything.
I have been a Veg since a child; The reason I remained veg is because the $$ & corn they waste to fatten and force feed animals can be used to save/ feed hungry children in smaller countries or even here now we are going through a recession... I choose not to support mans greed over world hunger..... plus the number 1 killer in the world is heart disease..... where does it come from?..among other things arteriosclerosis that comes from the blockage of artery... from cholesterol.... a plant based diet is virtually is cholesterol free...Look up Loma Linda the longest living people in America... they are vegetarians
I became a vegetarian because I realized the harm being done to animals and I don't want to support that at all. A lot of my friends'll say we have to eat animals and the food chain yada yada. Like, I can understand that, that people have been living off of animals forever, but to me it's more how it's done. You don't have to torture them and put them threw all of that crap. That just sucks. But, definitely for that reason. Plus, it's just healthier :)
I became a vegetarian in 1997 and be deleting, and going back and fourth since...
After some things that I read about meat turned my stomach just thinking about it, I made the decision that I was going to change the way that I ate.
Need more will power sometimes I'd eat fish but don't desire to have it all the time

Trying to find better selections of proteins since. The local spots that have the BEST vegetarian/vegans foods are closing down due to rent increases (heartbreaking) but I'd just hunt for another one..
At first I did it to lose weigh, thats when i first considered it.I got picked on a lot during my sophmore and freshman year because i was chubby.
i continued because i realized i hadent been listening to my body this whole time and the reason why i would get so sick and uncomfortable after i ate dairy was becuase i was lactose intolerant.
Then i actually did some actual research on what kind of places that the diray cows lived in,how the milk makes it way from the cow to the store, what the difference was between "free range" chickens and not free range etc.
It changed my mind on how i felt about meat, diary and animals completely.Seeing that stuff pulled on my heartstrings too much for me to continue consuming animal products.
And..I've dropped 20 pounds,which is also a plus :)
I'm veg for one main reason: We're taking without returning. I love meat and all, but we can't treat animals like they're damn wood on a tree or whatnot. Mass produced animals is just morally disgusting.
the meat industry is corrupt and savage. i don't support it. im tryna get me and the environment healthy.
2years strong in february..all smiles
