... the other Black experience

Vaganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind.[3] The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns. Of particular concern to many vegans are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources for animal farming.

No silk, leather, honey...etc. etc. Can ya handle it. I can try. It's easy to find sneakers that aren't made of leather but are they hot..? I luv chocolate although as of recently I couldn't polish off a bag of M&M's w/ peanuts and that never happens. lol ( I think it's because I don't eat eggs and cheese anymore) who knows.

i've been vegan for 9 years now. rather, i have a vegan diet, but i do not practice the vegan lifestyle. i dont eat anything containing animal products, but i do eat honey, because technically insects barf and poop all over everything we eat anyway, so i'm not gonna avoid stuff for that reason. i won't eat food with dairy, eggs, or any other animal by product in it, but i do love me some leather. unapologetically so.

i guess for me, the vegan lifestyle is a bit mnuch. i see myself doing it by thhe time i'm 50 and cn afford to be a rich hippie like my Turkish friend who is uber vegan. its easy to go all granola with your clothes and shit when u can afford some $500 vegan organic cruelty free sneakers. but right now, i just wear what i want to, eat vegan, and hope that me lovingly raising and supporting 5 spoiled ass cats will help balance out my kharma.
You don't need 500 bucks to buy vegan shoes :)
I've been vegan for 7 months and vegetarian for a year before that. So I haven't.consumed mean in nearly 2 years. I live simply and my shoes are mostly made of canvas, pleather, and unless you're constantly eating out or buying meatless patties and things, the food aspect isn't hard in my opinion but at the same time I can totally understand that different people come from different households and under certain circumstances can't afford to go vegan or maybe not even vegetarian, it is all a privilege at the end of the day.
