Hair anyone?

I happen to be in beauty school at the moment and Im enjoying the fact that the people who go there have enough diversity to bring in clients of the like. There are, as my teacher would say, "100 ways to get to walmart" , So what id like to explore abit is how to you all achieve your ideal hair aesthetic? :) i know that there are literally a gajillion styles out there, but im interested in how you create your silhouettes or patterns and styles to get your style across :)

also when i say silhoutte i mean like how Miss Goapele created that braided style that had the same general shape as a sort of pompadour.
