Is Black Music Radio Show? Resonance 104.4Fm Tuesdays 7pm NYC time, 4pm LA time, 12 midnight UK time!! Listen online at resonancefm.com

*IMPORTANT* - All listeners outside the UK can listen LIVE online at - http://resonancefm.com/

Freaks, sneaks, pimps, player and perverse purveyors of the aesthetic escalators! Yes that means - YOU! Come on in and check out the fun we've got for you.

Funky - of course.
Dirty - even better!
Real - what do you think?

Is Black Music? Is a radio show on Tuesday nights at midnight (UK time) on Resonance 104.4FM (London’s Arts Radio Station) goes into those dark and light places that the mainstream often overlooks or relegates to foreplay - but we go all the way!

Hosted by Art Terry and me Yinka, this is the show you always wanted to hear but didn't think existed!

I won't tell you what we generally play cos we don't do "general" but I will say that last week Tues 3 Feb was a Tom Wilson special - for those who don't know he's the cat that made Bob Dylan go electric!! You’ll catch us playing AfroPunk artists of course – we’ve had Visitor Q and Milk Plus on – expect more in the future!

Tonight we’ll be giving you a break down of the shows to come over the next few weeks and are joined by guest Geniyo! Also learn of a proto punk band you NEED to know about!

IS BLACK MUSIC PLAYER IS LIVE Y'ALL!!

Hey Afropunkers, I’ve got a plan, and in order for it to work, I need your help.

Let me cut right to the chase:

Spring of 2010 in Louisville, KY: Afropunk @ Art Sanctuary!!!

I have a fantastic venue lined up, Art Sanctuary/Alley Theater... they're excited about helping create a holy-shit-kick-ass event along the lines of the Brooklyn event.

We’re going to show the AfroPunk film! We’re going to invite James Spooner down to talk about the movie. We’re going to book a couple of your favorite Afropunk bands as well as some local AP faves from our region. We’ll have art for sale, and live graffiti artists! Everything!!

Yeah, you heard me right. I’m planning on doing a smaller-scale Afropunk event here in Louisville, KY! Something for the AP’ers over here near Cincy, Louisville, Chi-town, Indy, Nashville & Memphis.

In order to make it happen, we need all kinds of help.

Foremost, we need sponsors for the event. If you own or know of any businesses who would like to get their name on our materials, shown on the screen, and get mad coverage in exchange for sponsorship of our event, that would be extremely helpful. Also if anyone has services to donate, such as web design & hosting, printing or anything else, that would be great too!

Right now we have the grand scheme of things posted up as several blog entries at: http://afropunkatartsanctuary.tumblr.com

you can check out the marketing plan so far as well as what we’re aiming to do at the event.

If you have any questions, hit me up at oreobarbie@gmail.com!

Thanks so much for reading, and please pass on the word! Show the website to other people.
