Hey guys,

If anyone is going to NYC in August for AP hit me up! I'll be with a group of people but it'll be fun to have some LA folks there in honor of the west coast.

Glad to hear about your project
Blaqvenus! My sisters masters thesis some years ago was about how Afro Latino's self identify culturally and socially and her continuing field of study is about Afro Mexicans, etc.  There have been a few short films on the subject we saw a few  years back at the Pan African Film Festival, and there are only a few researchers on the subject, and my sister (who is 8 years older than me ) knows all of the few, I think.  I look forward to seeing your film when it's completed.  If you need any help info wise, I'm sure my sister would be glad to help you.  Also did you see that exhibit about AfroMexicans at CAAM a few years ago? It was fascinating:  we also met Father Glyn Jemott, who lives down there for the past 30 years, he originally moved there from Trinidad to be their parish priest and he is very involved in the history of the Black Indigenous folks in that area.

I've been passionately developing a film about Black and Indigenous culture in Central America along the Caribbean Sea. Please help me with safe travels by land. Archiving our relatedness of past and present is important towards our survival. I desire to keep our stories alive through video and photography. Support Black Productions. Support Black women filmmakers.

What's up LA Afro Punks?! I'm Vixen Noir and I'm producing a west coast music tour coming through L.A. the weekend of June 6! We're looking for 1 Black Queer Music Artist to do a 15 minute set to open our show. All local artists split 10% of the ticket/door income after expenses. You can sell merchandise. It's a great opportunity to promote a new album or EP or mixtape, etc. Hit me up if you're interested. Here's the link to our facebook page: and website:

Thank you.
