AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

and now the curl pattern is completely shot! I only straightened the back half so the top half still fros up when I comb it out but the back half is straight with a litttle bit of kink to it.  It's been less than a week since the incident so maybe if I give it more time it will return to its old ways but I doubt it.  I feel like I killed my proteins or something.

ooh, hopefully it reverts back. Just keep it moist.
Did you..(gulp) relax it?? Ok, luv, you can do this...step awaaaay from the creamy crack and never go back. Stay natural and be good to your beautiful crown.
No, she straightened her hair. She has heat damage.

Oh that's a relief. You're right about keeping it moist. It should revert. Keep it natural and healthy.

Yeah, as long as you didn't use TOO much heat, it should start to revert back to normal. I sometimes use my flat iron on a 15 (out of 25) setting to straighten my bang area when I get the urge to wear a wig or something.
It could be heat damaged. I won't cut it right away instead I'll opt for deep conditioning treatments.
dont use flat irons.same thing happened to my sis.
I was told by a hairdresser friend that when your hair is natural it retains straight styles longer cause of it's "hair memory". I guess maybe this what happened to you. Just keep it WELL conditioned and let it loose. I hate that inbetween stage, but too much heat is not good I guess.

I want to know where I can get a steam dryer?
how does it not go back to it's original curl pattern after you clarified/shampooed it to get all the product out and deep condition it though? heat damage isn't that serious (unless you literally burned your hair w/ those super hot flat irons), is it?
