Looking for local shows in the Metro NYC Area!
The title says it all, really. Greetings, we're HelixDown, a two-piece experimental rock band from Staten Island New York, looking for some shows to hop it on before the summer craze ends! Anywhere in the Metro NYC area (or even some parts of New Jersey!) would be kickass. Venues we'd love to play are:
- The New York City Arts Cypher
- Crash Mansion
- Arlene's Grocery
- Southpaw
- The Knitting Factory
- The Bronx Underground/The Point
- In someone's basement or backyard!
Yes, it's like that! Well, our music is on our AP page, and we do have a myspace if you guys care to check both of them out. If someone is in need of a band slot for a venue, or would like to shoot us some ideas and critiques, or just talk, we're both down with any of them! We want to play at least 4-5 gigs before we hit up the studio with our EP (which will be epic!). Peace and love and all that jazz...

After giving your stuff a listen, I would suggest Trash Bar in Brooklyn. The booking guy's name is Walter, and his info is on the Trash Bar web site. He should be able to get you on a slate of like-minded bands, and it's a fun venue.

well, let me first welcome you guys to AP.
I am one picky fucker.
That being said,... its not often that I listen to a band's music (whether they have a profile on AP or not) and actually like it.
I dig what you guys are doing.
You have a sense of humor. Eventhough artists should be serious about their musicianship, its good to not get too stuffy & take yourselves too seriously. (I like that Black Eyed Peas intro, lol )
My favorite is "Fight The Battle" and "Confrontation".
I'm looking forward to supportin you guys and seeing your performance. -
