What are some of your favorite music venues in Philly?

Here are a few I'm aware of (both are on South St.):

From that list, I've only been to The electric factory, World cafe live, TLA and North Star Bar. I've heard of The M Room, The Troc and Shampoo. I haven't heard of Sugar Mom's and The Rock Bar. Thanks.

Is that @ The Rotunda?

That's another cool place... http://www.therotunda.org/?page_name=calender
The Bars are always better for atmosphere, I just went the troc for the first time awhile ago for a Mogwai, and went to the Electric factory like ast month for Mars Volta. Classic philly Right there.
Never heard of Mogwai or Mars Volta before. Thanks. I've hit a few shows at the Electric Factory... namely Common and The Roots a few years back. I haven't been to any concerts recently. Saw Saul Williams when they came to TLA. Also saw Santogold @ TLA over the summer.

I've definitely got to make it to the Troc... I think Lupe was there not too long ago... Or something.

Painted Bride Art Center has some musical stuff from time to time. Pretty cool place in general. Also book readings, film showings and art exhibits.

Hey.. we usually perform @ Doc Watsons (216 S. 11th St) We follow the WMMR crowd because they supposrt local Music. Heres some other cool shit. Every last Friday of the month... You gotta check out Club Risque.. on Del. Ave. Yup... the strip club.. Theres this new spot call THe Rox Box on Ridge Ave. in Roxborough. It used to be called the Blinkin Lincoln.. Small spot but great sound. The Rotunda... I see you already put that one down... it's kind of tough to throw shows there cause it's hard to get into.. The place takes donations and is an all ages spot which is great, but everyone is hip to it and it's just tough to book events / shows.

Sometimes Lickety Split on South st. Right across the street from Jims Staeks.. They have live music above that Pizza Parlor.. Sometimes.. theres cool shit and sometimes its.. it's... its... well.. you can figure that part out by now.. We're Performing this week @ The Rox Box @ 10 pm.. It's gonna have some real kick ass acts... Holla at me..

Coyles Rox Box 6080 Ridge Ave, Roxborough... Only $5 and there are some pretty cool drink specials...
