i wouldnt mess with it... that is to heal certain thing when all you need to do is keep your tattoo moist with a decent non-greasy lotion without fragrance like aveeno or lubriderm.  oily stuff makes the tattoo remain sticky and u lose your ink instead of shedding the "snake layer" color-free.
