Though countless musicians have graced your televisions and ears, do know and be proud that these hybrid genres of music would not exist without a root of rhythm and blues and rock n‘ roll created and perfected by a genius menagerie of true pioneers that resemble YOU. Be hold and Be hot damned!

Bred from the good ol’ pound of down-home rockin’ Rockabilly sounds mighty morphed with dead-end, original punk rock thuds came a new born bastard by the name of Psychobilly.

Big Sandy and Vicky are and search the others and see. There's a DVD on the LA area rockabilly scene from a few years ago, and some of it might be on YouTube by now.

You know who else is awesome, Vicky Tafoya and The Big Beat. There's also a cool sorta psychobilly band I saw open once for Royal Crown Revue....they were young Latino dudes, called Calavera. You might also like Little Mo and the Dynaflos.

Omg, can someone please put me on to some modern rockabilly. I already and have always been into Motown old school rock and roll. I would also like to get more familiar with, old school, southern bluesy-hoodoo, country type of music if anyone 'get's' that description i attempted to give there, lol. I like a lot of country music too. Anyways, im new here and let me say - lastly, what i should have said first, hello everybody! lol.

And Duke.....if you are looking for Black rockabilly players, you should also ask around Black musicians who play other styles of music that would be willing to play in another genre too.  Talent is talent.  Look around for others in bands playing ska, reggae, jazz, r&b, you know never know til you start looking and asking around!

Duke:  went to a Royal Crown Revue show that here on the Santa Monica Pier last month.  DUDE!!!!! MOST AMAZING THING EVER WAS THE OPENING BAND.   This gorgeous talented sister name Ameera and her band New Jump Blues, featuring some of the old original backup musicians from the early days of RCR and these two fine brothers who danced/sang just like the old style acrobatic dancing of The Nicholas Brothers and a performer Antonio Fargas, he was great and hilarious and all sharp in his suit.  What's a trip is a friend of mine was talking with the musicians in the backing band, and one of them told her Ameera and the other brothers were really frustrated before finding them, because they wanted to find some Black musicians talented enough to really play the jump blues/swing funky jazz style and they couldn't find anyone!!!!  That was their original plan.  Even as it was..........it meant SO much to me to see Ameera and the other three brothers in the band singing/performing with her.  They were GREAT!!!! I sure hope I get to see them do more shows out here.  They are AMAZING and really bring super extra funkiness and tight rhythm and style to the scene of music.  I hope they get more shows booked.  They need to be seen and heard.  They are TIGHT!!!!

right on rosenda! a friend of mine here in france, has an online vintage store, and was a promoter for many years. he knows all the european rockabilly cats, and was the first person to bring "BIG SANDY"(the latino rockabilly star to europe). he asked me a while back to join a rockabilly group he was putting together, but i wanted to try something incorporating rockabilly with other influences, but in an all-black band. i love this site!
