I didn't know about this show til today so I googled and watched a clip. The kids seem likeable, but the show is 6 episodes--what is gonna be accomplished in 6 episodes? The description is that this family wants to improve their lives but I dont know what they will change in 6 episodes. Part of the clip I saw was the family at a waterpark and they seemingly couldnt wait to get their hands on some funnel cake and icees. One of the searches I found said "parts of this show made me cringe". I was sorta cringing at the sight of these people hovering over this funnel cake with the powdered sugar flying everywhere especially when the mom said they were going to the park to get some excercise. I cant tell from anything I read if they will be provided with any sort of instruction in nutrition or fitness. I wouldnt mind seeing any portrayal of thick healthy well adjusted people, we do exist, but since the premise is that these people are all over 300 lbs and want to change, who will help them to change?
Well I watched the episode, and it did make me cringe in areas. ALOT. The thing is they all take turns going to the doctor and being told exactly the same thing. YOU ARE OBEASE, YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR DIET. They sit stone faced, and then cry later. The son gets yelled at by mom for having soda in his room. WELL STOP BUYING IT AND BRINGING IT INTO THE HOUSE THEN! The kids are dependents. They don't go buy groceries for themselves. No part of the show is them seeing a dietician, or a life coach or even a trainer. There was a small excercise class and walking. There was a trip to the store and mom cooks the stereotypical brocoli and baked chicken with no seasoning and everyone complains. I have my doubts, because its as if its supposed to be more of a comedy than a serious look and change for health.

There is another show on called Half Ton, it changes the subtitile Dad, Mom, Teen depending on who they are focusing on that week. I was almost in tears watching it for hours on end. A man 1000 lbs cant even stand up and hasnt walked for 3 years? HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???? Why doesn't anyone in their life say, NO I AM NOT GOING TO BURGER KING AND GETTING YOU 8 DOLLAR BURGERS for a snack. They kept saying its like fighing with a junkie for a fix. I was really depressed after, and thankful that I walk around without issues and I don't have any health problems.
