I usually google the album i'm looking for and let the search begin! So, some of the the sites I found that were awesome for finding rare vinyls are Amazon, Insound, Juno Records, Aural Exploits, Hello Merch (which have limited artist), BestBuy, Smartpunk, and Ebay. I've bought vinyls from all of these places and found that they are pretty reliable and have fast shipping! Well I've had some problems with Insound. From my experience with them they seem to claim they have an item but after you buy the item THEN they tell you that the item is on backorder! Bestbuy does the same thing! But aside from that, when they actually have what you're looking for it gets to you pretty quickly. I also usually go straight to the source and get my vinyls from the artist sites. It also seems cheaper to get it from there too! I haven't bought many vinyls from vinyl shops. If anyone lives in Houston and knows of any shops where I and find them please let me know! I love this group btw! Hopefully more will join! :)

I usually shop online for my vinyl on Amazon.com,but if anybody can lead a brotha to some good vinyl websites so that I can find RARE vinyl that is hard to find hit me up on this site,or e-mail me @ chrstnmitchell@yahoo.com!

Yes! Amoeba is great for rare releases...especially used stuff...however (if money is not an issue) the best place to go for some amazing releases and for some awesome people who know what their talking about, go to http://www.aquariusrecords.org/. They're located in the mission and it's a little pricey but they definitely spend all day getting the releases you want and helping you get into some new shit you might be missing out on. If you thought you were a music fanatic, you gotta meet these people. Amoeba is just kinda good for finding cheap used stuff. Rasputin's down here is great to go to because they don't know how to price their LP's at all so you're always getting rare stuff for SUPER SUPER cheap. Also There's a bunch of other places that aren't picked over. If you're interested in those locations as welljust send me a pm and I'll hook you up with the info :)

So, is amoeba really a legit place to hit up for rare releases? Im from the south, so commercial record stores died almost a decade ago, when virgin closed down. I can say for Austin- waterloo, yeah has some pretty cool stuff, but that's all visitors to the town know when they hit Austin up.. There are so many other places in town!
