AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Hello team it's your girl sport once again, I'd first would like to thank you all for joining wheredahellsmygrunge it really means alot to me . I am on a quest to bring grunge back though it had it's run I belive that it was way to short of one. The bands you all listed were all heavy hitters! theirs no way anyone can deny that grunge changed the face of rock and broadend our horizon you see prior to grunge the only alternative music we had was new wave, and other sub genre's (which by the way i am a huge fan of) but it's a little far from rock and roll. through grunge alternative music was re-defined and spawned a new sub culture through grunge we now have emo, we now have a deeper darker meaningful rock then the metal of the late 80's .It's safe to say that without grunge their would be no system of a down,no disturbed,no korn etc......... we owe alot to grunge rock it opened doors as well as ears. please feel free to add any bands that i've over looked! Im hoping to bring a new grunge back one that'll stand the test of time one that no man can deny one that's dirtier, grittier, more empowering, anarchial as the first. we can not let this genre down, nirvana needs us,soundgarden needs us,sublime needs us and last but not least alice and chains needs us! WELL YOU HELP THEM?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'they need us'? Music evolves. Now there is Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam is still out there but UNDERGROUND as you can get. A & C has a new lead singer, but I haven't heard him.

There is a reason GRUNGE imploded......more later...
I always felt that grunge evolved into the groups that you mentioned...I always thought that emo was grunge's more self-centered brother who was wearing his older brother's "hand me downs" that got shrunk in the wash.
I grew up listening to most of the grunge bands you mentioned...god, radio rock was sweet back then! Nowadays, pretty much EVERY band being played on the radio or MTV sounds like a grunge rip off. Btw, emo has NOTHING to do with grunge...
