Get ready for some wicked summer fun filled with Live music, DJs,
skate, BMX, fashion, food, and art as we take over downtown
Brooklyn for the 6th Annual Afro-Punk Festival! This year we’re
moving the festivities to Commodore Barry Park,
right in BK’s Fort Greene neighborhood (Flushing Ave & N
Elliot, Brooklyn, NY 11201).
If you thought last year’s fest was hot, wait until you hear who’s
on the new the line-up: from punk legends Bad Brains and 24-7 Spyz,
to underground AP favorites J*DaVeY, Game Rebellion, and
alternative hip-hop masters Mos Def and P.O.S., we can’t even begin
to tell you how dope this edition is going to be. Check out the

APX “Battles For The
Streets”: Our skate/BMX clinics and battles will be in full
effect with the sickest pro skaters and riders, $5,000 worth of
prizes, sponsored by Nike 6.0, Nike SB, Skullcandy and truth. Check

wilder. The festival is the main event of the year for the global
Afro-punk community and the definitive destination for audiences
looking to experience true Afro-punk culture.

HOW TO GET THERE:
By Subway:
F train to York Street. Emerge from station and turn left. You are
now on Jay Street. Walk up Jay Street, turn left on Sands, walk
down the hill and turn right on Navy Street. The park is a 1 block
from there on the left. Use the BQE as a guide.
From the Manhattan
Bridge:
Stay in the right lane on the bridge and exit toward the BQE. Stay
right as you exit. Turn right on Sands and turn right on Navy. The
park is a block from there.
From the Brooklyn
Bridge:
Stay in the right lane on the bridge and exit toward the BQE. Stay
right as you exit. Turn right on Prospect Street. When you get
under the Manhattan Bridge, turn right on Jay. Turn left on Sands
and turn right on Navy. The park is a block from there.
From 3rd Ave.,
Brooklyn:
Cross Atlantic, then cross Flatbush. The Brooklyn Academy of Music
is on your right. Take first left on Ashland Place. Follow Ashland,
which turns into Navy Street, under the BQE. When you emerge from
under the BQE you will see the field on the right. Field 2 is the
closer to Navy Street.
On Foot:
Cross the Brooklyn or Manhattan Bridges from Manhattan, or up
Tillary Street from Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn.
