this comic con aims to boost lgbtq poc representation in superhero culture

Founded by designer and illustrator Jermaine, Hero Nation is the free comic con that takes place in Ypsilanti, Michigan and celebrates QPOC, intersectional voices, and disabilities while championing diversity. This inclusionary event invites cape-wearers, wand-flickers, and web-slingers to “celebrate the hero in you” in a safe space with people who love the same fandoms and comics that you do. “For much of their history, superheroes have given us a reason to dream, hope and smile. They represent the best of humanity and our strengths,” Jermaine writes about his con. The mission? “To inspire positive social change and guarantee client satisfaction through effective creative solutions and superheroics. It’s time to save the world.”
