About Me
52 inteligentleman, educated, bilingual, creative. raised outside the u.s. (puerto rico) until college prefer pistols anarchy to clash's dilettantism=but still a fan of London Calling/Sandinista- a firm believer that punk is an attitude, a philosophy not a style...so, godard, kathy acker, noam chomsky...anybody who does good work...when I lived and worked in atlanta in the mid 80's, I had a series of bands, one of which was called 'synchro system' after the sunny ade record, and which we billed as 'afro-punk'...perhaps you get many people saying they thought of the term; I think of it like scientists all working on the same idea independently, using the same resources but not necessarily knowing about each other, and often different laboratories come up with similar results. Anyway, at that time and that place, afro-punk was not the catchy construct it is today, although we're all proud of what we accomplished. Believe we should all know our history...especially the edited-out parts...but as for art, strongly believe Ezra Pound's dictate: 'make it new', and so not much of a fan of retro anything.
