About Me
Alex Kelly is the former lead singer of Amungus, an electro-pop band featuring Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls. “The truth is…” was released in 2008, with Alex earning credit for her work as a singer/songwriter. “Bad Kitty” appeared on iTunes' Tap Tap Revenge 3, Kiss 98.5fm, and 88.7fm (NPR). Amungus opened for the B52’s alongside the likes of Metric, an event that drew over 6000 concert goers. After three years under Takac’s musical influence, Alex eagerly channeled her energies into a phenomenal solo project.

Sticky Butterfly, a self produced EP, released in late spring of 2010, is the sonic metamorphosis of Alex Kelly. With its powerful vocal performance, electrified instrumentation, and fearless lyrical content, Sticky Butterfly is a rock-dance hybrid that is sure to stain the brain. Communication is the driving force behind this work, as it is both captivating and inspiring in its message. The EP would be the catalyst that transformed a fanatical tween who slept with Prince’s Purple Rain LP, into a femme goddess, able to rock crowds with her kinetic energy. Sticky Butterfly has been featured on Channel 7 WKBW, Carma Dee TV, Z100 New! Radio, and Afropunk.com. In addition, Sony Creative Software will host a promotional contest for the EP in late January 2011. Support for Sticky Butterfly is provided by over 38 digital distributors including iTunes (worldwide), Napster, Emusic, and Amazonmp3.com (both in the US and UK).

Alex Kelly has collaborated with Matt Stein (Grammy Award winner), Kenny Hawkins and Jerry Livingston (Rick James Band), The Lady Tigra (Tigra & BunnyD) and Dashah (Fresh Vetz). Although the lure of corporatized music may appeal to some, Alex has found an organic niche for which to nourish her talent, introducing her trademark “Alex Kelly Music” in 2010. Armed with A killer EP, explosive stage presence, and a fledgling music company, Alex Kelly is ready to command stages nationwide… and might just cause a revolution in the process.
