    I really don't know much about goths in Newport News Va. I don't think there is much going on here except private parties which are strictly invitation only ( as i've been told) There are a few goth clubs in neighboring cities though but I'm not much for going out. One day however I plan to check some of them out.

   I am still pretty new to the subculture. Guess I'm still a baby bat because I am still obsessed with the question; what the fuck is goth?

   I joined Gothic net before i joined AP because I wanted to talk to goths. The experience was not pretty. Instead of open minded people I found a group of educated dick-heads.  

   I've been talking to goths here and am finally getting honest responses to my baby bat questions. Lately I'm wondering if I am goth at all but I love the subculture and think there is something there for me but I don't know what the hell it is. I figure if I keep studying the subculture and talking to goths, sooner or later I'll figure things out.

   It's been said that you don't have to be "gothed out" to be goth (as a lot of acknowledged goth bands aren't) but I feel a need to be visibly recognized as goth. I just think It's a cool look but to make it a life style...I guess this is the mystery to me. What does it mean to have a goth lifestyle? Sleeping in the graveyard at night? Howling at every full moon?

   What does goth as a lifestyle mean to you if you don't mind me asking?

    How long have you been a goth?

   I have been talking to two other goths here_Tee Bell and Jasmine Best_ they are good people and kind to my inquiring mind. Introduce yourself to them. I'm sure you will be welcomed. I had a bad experience at G-net but meeting the two goths here is healing that.
