I wish this kind of community was around and visible in the 80s. I've been pretty adrift in my relationship to music for a while and the bands/musicians/bloggers here are getting me pretty jazzed about things again.
You can be my friend if...
You aren't a fake profile. Also, I'm not down with people who are proud of their sexism/classism/racism/homophobia/etc...we all have our blind spots, but some of us are more willing to take responsibility for it and challenge ourselves than others. Bonus points for people who dance to the beat of their own percussionist and know how to turn a phrase. You don't have to be a grammar freak...just know how to string words together in a way that makes sense. Mostly, I just appreciate people who know that we all have to live in this world, regardless of where or who we come from so we might as well find a way to make it work.
