Don't rule out the possibility of meeting some one from this website. I talked to one person by e-mail and then she gave me her phone number and we talked once over the phone.

I haven't heard from her since, however. There has been no new activity on her profile page, so Goddess only knows what happened to her. I hope she's alright but I have reasons to be a little concerned. I may hear from her again. I hope so.

Also as a friend has told me on more than one occasion, it's not unusual for couples to have first met over the internet, so you never know.

What state are you in, if you don't mind me asking? I saw the picture Oakland Street Art and assumed you were in California. but Oakland street could be anywhere. The reason I ask is because I plan on moving somewhere that is warm all year around. I'm a painter but during the winter, paint work comes to a crawl and I have to take any job I can find to stay afloat. I enjoy painting and if I could do that all year around I could build a foundation from there.

Another friend tells me his father use to tell him that a man (or woman) can have what ever they want as long as they go to work every day. I think that's true but one of the things I want is work I don't mind getting out of bed in the morning to go do. You can't put a price on that.

Besides, in my "old age" I decided that I'm not going to do anything I don't want to do ever again in life. It's my life and I don't think that's an unreasonable ambition. The way I see it,if you're not happy, what's the point?

I wouldn't have joined this website if it was just about talking to any body that happened to be on the site. This one is full of alternative thinking blacks _as the news papers call us. That's not something I see on my street or even on my block every day, so meeting them here is pretty cool. Plus I never knew there were so many black rock and roll bands.

    AP was a brilliant idea.

I always knew I wasn't alone but It's nice to be able to meet and talk to like-minded souls.  It's empowering knowing that there are a whole bunch of us. No one else may know about us but we know about each other.

    That's half the battle.

Now when some A-hole knocks me because I listen to rock, I just smile to myself and think "you're the one that's sleeping". And the beauty of this is that it's true.
