About Me
Move over Mary Kate and Ashley. Twin brothers Jonathan and Jarred Lindsay aka Mackamillion and Mr. Mackmore, known as the hip-hop duo Double Vision, are the newest force poised to take over hip-hop. Their debut album, Bifocal (No Sleep Records), consists of eight tracks—reminiscent of Pharcyde, Outkast mixed with Gym Class Heroes—that masterfully fuses together hip-hop, rock and Ska, over cleverly worded lyrics. The result is something truly distinctive.

The track "Skinny Jeans" showcases Double Vision's playful side. Mackamillion rhymes: "So check the way we rock it/ skinny jeans fat pockets." over a sparse, retro beat, compliments of New York track masters, the Padhitters.

But any complete album will inspire introspection, and Bifocal is no exception. On "Walk On By," the twins trade verses about individuality and acceptance. "It's definately personal for us," notes Mackamillion. "Being that we're not your stereotypical hip-hop band on an almost all rock label."

These two certainly defy stereotypes. Born in Venice, CA, they moved throughout the mid-west and the south as kids. Products of the hip-hop generation, they started rhyming before they were out of their Underoos. In high school, they hooked with producer Bill Blast aka Motion Plus and formed Double Vision. In 2008 recorded their first EP, No Explanation.

"When we started, it was the bling era of hip-hop, so we were different from the norm," explains Mr. Mackmore. "So we just kept doing our thing. And that's the concept of this album: Be You!"

Guests on Bifocal include Johanna Phraze & Dale "uncle perk" Perkins. Production is shared producer Jansport J, Marcus D, and Jeff "Stress" Davis, and the Padhitters.
