I have not been able to get out much these days so I don't know what's new. I think Carribee key @ the beach still does live reggae and ska. You can also hear a lil funk and blues @ Sun Dog( also on 3rd street and atlantic @ the beach) on Saturday nights. you can also pick up a Foolio Weekly, or a Buzz magazine you can get them almost anywhere in Jax and they generally tell you all things going on for the week, and where things are.
As far as good natural salons in jax. There's a few places i've seen good works.
there's this place Cwata on Rogero rd in arlington. but i dont know the number @ this moment. I'll comment you later with that and more info on some other salons. Welcome to jax, hope to see you around.
Oh, also there is a 3 day concert event going on in St Augustine from March12-14. the tickets are about 50 dollars now .or atleast until march 11. there going to be about 100 bands. I went last year and it was so much fun. You can check out more details @ harvestofhopefest.com

I really do'nt go out to much but I use to d.j @ T.S.I on bay st. its a indy bar with d.js and all types of touring acts,Shantytown pub is awesome its in springfield, Poppy loves smoke is a wine bar thats pretty chill hit me up on facebook Chaka Onfroy and let me know how Duval working out 4 ya peace.
