Lord Q said… Wow...love, love, love!!!! I love the vocals and the arrangements!
Hummm...was that song, Back To The Place here before? A much better song in my opinon_ not that the first wasn't good because it is. You guys and girl have real talent, you don't need me to tell you that. I'm impressed with your sound and you all look like a cool group too, you look friendly. (So you're not likely to scare white folks) and yeah, I'd say you're ready for the alternative crowd. Knock em' silly.
I'm glad you don't want to roast me alive but I figure you bands would rather hear an honest opinon than some one telling you what they think you want to hear.
Christian band memebers not Christian band_ got it.
Back To The Place is good alternative rock. I hope your dream of doing mainstream comes true. People need to hear and see this.
I like the song. I still think you guys are holding out. Where's the rock out stuff? I know you must have some songs that do that. You're a band I would keep my eyes on if I heard one of your songs on the radio.
Having your race as an asset is all good and well, one needs to use every ace one has but at the end of the day, whether you stay in the ring or not depends on how well you can box. I think you can hold your own, so don't focus too much on being an all-black band. It's a novelity now but you don't want to fade when the novelity does. Given your talent, there is no reason you should.
Thank you for giving this old fart the time of the day and thanks once again for not wanting my head. Giving an honest opinon can be scary. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade.
Thank you for the request. I can always use another black rock band as friends_ my old ass still can't get over it_ you youngen's took it a step further, instead of just listening to the shit, you decided to form bands and play it!
I love the fuck out of all of you for that.
Your music. My first reaction: damn! A black alternative rock band! (SWEET!) but this initial euphora was followed by a second thought. An alternative rock band...that sounds like most every other alternative rock band.
Then I listened a third time to Message and I had to reconsider, maybe you're not.
I noticed in your profile that you list the Bible as your favorite book. Are you aware that I am a Satanist? Not to worry I'm not one to trip, I believe in live and let live. If it works for you, it is you.
I say all of this because I heard this bibical influence in my third listening and I found it interesting indeed. I listened to some of the words (sung with a great voice, I do add) and it could be called Christian rock (and I'm not entirely a stranger to that either) but the guys coming in with the choir-like back-up singing brought the sense out more.
Muscially you guys and lady are tight as anyone could hope for. Sounds like proffessional shit to me but I'm afraid Iv'e become ticked off with alternative music just as I have with classical rock. Your sound is great, but you sound like an army of other alternative rock bands and that, to this_ rock n' roll jaded soul_ is never a good thing.
In any case, I'd like to hear more of your music. I suspect that I'd find something that screamed: shake to this, because you do sound good and don't take the ramblings of an old man too seriously, ( you can't tell me the world isn't flat) and besides; it's not what I think that carries you.
