In the late summer 2007, Renn and G Easy were united thru fate...
These two talented musicians met in a guitar store in Denmark Street, London.
Renn walked in to buy a guitar and G was the salesman on the spot! Impressed with G's playing skills whilst demonstrating the sound quality of a Crafter model, a guitar was sold and an idea was born!
Both, were coincidentally on a band search, so it was inevitable that these two Sagiterian songwriters would form an alchemy. It was in this store that they began to talk music, shoot the breeze and sharing influences. A couple days later, after an exchange of numbers, the all night smokey jam sessions down in their friend Alex's basement began.
London born singer/songwriter Renn has worked alongside artists such as Basement Jaxx, Jamiroquai, De La Soul, Me Shell N' Degeo Cello, Anastasia and The Fun Loving Criminals. With raspy-smooth vocal tones, complete with a full set of octaves and melodic hooks that weave harmoniously over G's rich guitar orchestration, all threaded with a string of colorful lyrics, Hednoka soon found the sound they wanted. So these late night jams soon evolved into the lads writing, arranging, performing and producing demos for their forthcoming debut album.
Mid-summer 2009...
Their promo cd lands them a gig at the Musique En Stock Festival, in G's native place of birth, France. They opened the stage for Tricky and went down a storm with the crowd, which got them another slot the in 2011. During a smoke and a chat backstage, it was Tricky who advised them to go to Paris to play! So they did!
Paris: Movie producer Laurent B-Viotti, after hearing the demos, contacted producer Phillipe Ulrich of Tubular Brain Publishing. The boys flew to Paris where they were all introduced. A productive meeting of minds later and the French Connection begins!
With the innervision of the band, along with the production skills of Phillippe, the Hednoka sound, a rich modern blend of rock 'n' rap whisked with a liquid seasoning of blues 'n' soul, is intoxicating and at times euphoric. Live, the quality of musicianship and energy are at the fore of crowd pleasing, but what makes Hednoka really stand out is their songwriting craftwork. Between them their musical influences is a vast gallery, shooting as far afield as Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age, N.E.R.D, Parliament, Bob Marley to Radiohead, with sprinkles of other styles, inherited through all the nuturing years, all spread evenly in one melodic rizla, and ready to burn!....
With a strong 5 track 'HEDNOKA EP' underway, and all promotional material needed to become successful, these lads have gotta lot going for them. The first single off the album is 'COOL', Its a catchy upbeat track with all the right ingredience that makes 'Hitsville' swing open its doors!.
Hednoka is all about 'The Life' with stories, beats and melody!

Lord Q here, Founder of LA PUNK NOIR andLAPUNKNOIR.com. In an effort to promote Black and Brown bands and artists that don’t fit within the narrow perceptions of mainstream radio, I have started an online show,LPN RADIO. I am writing to ask that your band submit songs and links to your site to be featured on the show.
As you may be aware, LPN is the hub of West Coast Alternative Urban music, news and style. For bands and artists that Black radio has no room for and mainstream radio is afraid of, the LPN platform is available to you. LPN RADIO features alternative urban bands in the genres of rock, punk, metal and alternative hip-hop. I am also interested in introducing your band, via the LPN interview series,Q:15, a daily 15 minute segment, where two songs of featured guests are played, with an interview in between.
If your band is interested in these opportunities, follow the submission guidelines:
