LOL! very good of you to study all that you did. wish more people would attempt to see the other sides pov before jumping to conclusions. I may not like the idea of socialism but that doesn't mean we shouldn't speak about it. maybe something can be learned: who knows.
Sheree Monay said… hi. so sorry for the ever late response.
American History X was a really great way of showing how knowledge is power: he had to get locked in with what he thought was his enemy to learn his way's were wrong: he used that time to learn and question his beliefs: something most people will never do (I do this often to keep myself informed): It also show's how a person can be so emotionally invested in an idea that they'll die to preserve it. Silly thing is: you can't kill an idea (V for Vendetta).
The Believer is the second half of AX to me. Self hatred is also a subject that's rarely talked about and I love ryan anyway. I figured the plot while he was at the meeting for holocaust survivors: he was telling the old man he should have fought back while Ryans way of fighting was to conceal who he really was: in doing so, he believed he had control over the stereotypes about his culture but as he studied more, he became the hate that was directed towards him. The transition must have been brutal fore when they went to destroy the tabernacle, he wanted his "friends" to be careful in how they handled the items on the pulpit. He was still very loving towards the stuff just not towards the jewish people: that also showed his faith was built on ideas as well as he had already given up on others.
Why are they your favs?
