Where'd your post go where you blasted your local folks? I was going to leave some comments so I'll leave them here...
People get so much email over all their different platforms that 1 or even 2 blasts may not break through the noise.
if you want to break through the noise, create content that tells your story. Examples...Sam Adams, Jack Daniels, Zumba, Android, Apple. Do blog posts or Vlogs about what it took to get your store open and what it takes to run it. Good luck.
