While all the other kids in her neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago were listening to Usher and Destiny's Child, Melody Angel was listening to the Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, Yellowcard, Blink-182, and Jimi Hendrix. Rock and roll ruled her headphones and her life. She started playing drums first, then moved onto her instrument of choice the guitar. She is a self taught musician flutent with the drums, guitar, piano, and bass. She was a breakout star on the MTV show P Diddy's Starmaker. Rodney Jerkins (a judge on the show), said "You've just created a new genre of music Punk Soul". Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy even offered Melody a record deal live on the Starmaker show, saying "If bad Boy don't want you give me a call." Since the show Melody has been doing shows across the country. Most recently she played a Sold Out show at the House of Blues Chicago. I think Laurianne Gibson had it right when she said, "Melody you were born to do this". Be sure to check out her New EP, "The Outsider" now available on iTunes.
