The Asian hornet has no natural predators and no known individual animals have been known to conquer it besides humans. However, the giant hornet has met its demise at the hands of Japanese honey bees. Japanese honey bees understand that if a scout for the Asian hornets successfully relays the message back to the other hornets, then its hive will meet a demise. The Japanese honey bees combat a giant hornet by grouping around the hornet (100+ bees) and heating the insect to death. Many of the bees die in the process, but in the end, the hive is saved from one of the most dangerous predators in the world.
