It’s Naomi Campbell’s 48th birthday today! She is easily one of the most prolific supermodels of all time. For decades the stunner has been the face of countless campaigns and collections.
Her undeniable ‘star’ quality, professionalism, natural beauty, and skills as a silent photo actress seemed to, at times, transcended limitations in a way that has paved the way for legions of black models to come.
During the 90’s, she was one of the only Black top models in a toxic industry, and one can only imagine the racism she faced:

With a larger-than-life personality, Naomi Campbell’s career is one of that of an unstoppable force, one that has defied white hegemony in a deeply racist fashion world.

Happy Birthday to you, Ms. Naomi!

“I, Naomi Campbell, urge the Sudanese government to pardon rape victim Noura Hussein and show the world, that women who are brutally raped, are the real victims. #JusticeForNoura 🙏🏾”
