About Me

Rex Anthony

REX ANTHONY grew up in Houston, Tx., "Space City" and started singing at an early age in the gospel church where his father was a minister. His mother was a christian lady who somehow understood her talented and gifted son with the chameleon like personality. She encouraged his many talents and achievements as he was in his youth more of a creative artist through drawing and painting. One day he sat out to enroll in art school to take courses to become a fashion illustrator but was quickly prompt and groomed to be a fashion model due to his tall, tawny skin and handsome statuesque. His flair for fashion took another turn when he was on a modeling assignment at a local college. There he discovered the world of fashion designing of where he trained in haute couture designing and eventually grabbed the skirt tail of NYC. While being in NYC and the hectic world of fashion several years, he'd listen to his music demo recordings for a sense of comfort and simply to overcome being homesick, he soon realized that his music was his ultimate form of expression. In year 2003 he produced his debut cd “ I AM” under the Neptune Records label. Though it didn’t reach monumental record sells, it surely established him as a unique and well-know performer, one of few leading black rockers on the underground scene. Now after four years since “I AM” had been released, but still very much in linger, Rex Anthony is back again with yet another intimate but a romantic tale in a storytale cd entitled “LOVE DENIED”, 2007. While honing his chops on his acoustic guitar, he found himself engulfed by the inspiration of American poetess, Emily Dickinson. He himself is enriched by her way of words and how she wrote down her poetic expressions of such passion and romance. Rex is truly one of the last romantics, just listen to the lyrics and music of songs like ”You’re So Beautiful” and “Hands and Hearts”. With the sincere expressions of his deep soothing vocals he causes love and passion to come alive in the most extraordinary way. “LOVE DENIED” cd is a collection of eleven of his most heartfelt songs ever. Written from a lover’s point of view and escorting you through relations full of desire, adoration, love, passion and romance, ending in a lonesome deviation. The music is Rex’s own notorious and unique way of innovative and creative concepts breathe to life by collaborating with the brilliance of musician/producer Gabrielis K, it’s a marriage of guitar rhythms, trip hop beats and the most beautiful chords orchestrated in the most lyrical way.

Hi! My name is Jay B. Walker A.K.A. Zyyro. I am an artist, activist and director in film and tv who left the security of working in TV in NYC to keep my sister's ATL based non-profit alive. .A passion for change fuels my life. It fueled my sister's life too. She was a Doctor, Classical Singer and a Filmaker Educated at Howard University. A true Renaissance woman.

From Medicine to Music to Movies.....she did it all and started a non-profit in ATL to create excitement about learning through teaching film production. She supported it out of her pocket from 1997 til passing away in April 2008. I am attempting to keep her dream alive and continue making "CHANGE" a reality. I need your help though.

The logo and pics you see are of the 1st edition of my "CHANGE SHIRT" COLLECTION. A black vintage t-shirt that celebrates this new day and time. We've made a drastic change in Washington...we can make a drastic change in the world! I am attempting to do my part.

I am selling the "CHANGE SHIRT" at www.jetfuelforrevolution.com. The first one is limited to only 2000 pieces and will be a collectors item.

THE CHANGE SHIRT MAKES CHANGES!!! The next limited editions will be offered in other colors. I would appreciate your support by buying one for you and friends as gifts...or just spreading the word.

The name of the non-profit is MADE4YAYA, standing for: MUSIC-ARTS-DRAMA-EDUCATION-4-YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS.
Your purchase is tax deductible.

MADE4YAYA is a 501C3 non-profit corporation. For more info contact me.
