Baltimore native Reina Williams is making noise these days with her eclectic sound and authenticity, determined to bring the feeling back to popular music.
Daughter of an Opera singer and a Sculptor, she began writing music for her own sanity at age 12, dealing with the angst ridden feelings of a young pre teen, inspired by the music of Metallica, Kurt Cobain, Boyz II Men, Sade, and Seal.. At about age 14, she was exposed to Hip Hop, and RnB, artists like Jay-Z, DMX, Lil' Kim, Erykah Badu and really started taking an interest in MIDI composing and combining it with live recorded guitar.
Then in 2005, she decided to take a leap of faith. With the support of her family, Reina began writing & selling songs and performing for a living. After linking up with SelecTracks Music Publishing, she has produced over 2 FULL LENGTH CDs for their Publishing Library, and had her music placed in shows like "Californication", "Friday Night Lights" and the 2011 Selena Gomez film MONTE CARLO.
Most recently she made an appearance on FOX Network's The X-Factor Season 1 where in an Un-Aired audition in front of Celebrity Judges, Simon Cowell said this about Reina's perfromance . . . "She made my year!"
Currently, Reina travels back and forth between Baltimore, LA and New York, working to build a buzz in all regions via social networking
and amazing live performances.
