About Me
Overview: Bringing a fresh new sound that is resonating through Houston’s underground music world, Sydnee-Jane has become known for making great records, by combining intimate, intricate verses with catchy hooks. Sydnee-Jane is a classically trained vocalist, and a well rounded artist with a musical family that hails from Texas and has played with greats such as Count Bassie. The Houston, Texas, "southern singer," song-writer, arranger, and producer looks to get her music heard throughout the world. Sydnee-Jane is truly one of a kind, she toured a stint with a local rock band, under the name Sydnee-Jane & The Damen Austin Band creating the greatest fusion of Soul & Rock music ever. Sydnee-Jane is currently working with Multi-Platinum Producers Joe Traxx (Mya, UGK, Ciara, Scarface Etc.), N.O. Joe (Office Space, Sprite, Family Guy, The Diary, Riding Dirty, Etc.), along with her writing company, DicknJane Lyrikz on the next Sydnee-Jane project, as well major song placements. When Sydnee-Jane is asked to describe her style she breaks it down into two categories, “as a songwriter, my music is a fusion of genres from classical music to rap, but as an artist my style is heavily concentrated in the Soul, Pop, and Rock areas with a splash of doo-wop. Recently, I have been experimenting with 60s and 70s music, I love Woodstock.”

Background: Her extensive background includes a starring stage performance in The Velveteen Rabbit, at the Ensemble Theater, which ran for several years 1998-2001, and performing for former First Lady Barbara Bush. She was also elected to sing lead by Robert Ray, a modern composer of the piece entitled, Gospel Mass in C, an arranged version of Mozart’s Mass in C, a 23 page work in 2002, and was also a chosen vocalist elected to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. She was a featured model during NBA All Star Weekend in Houston, TX along side of, Eva Pigford & Tyson Beckford, in the All Star Fashion Show, and a performance in 2010. Sydnee-Jane has also been a featured performer at SXSW in 2006 and 2010.

Current Projects: She is working on a solo EP project which includes the futuristic soul, pop, rock song “Ready to Go” collectively entitled "Jane's World." Sydnee-Jane also introduces a new school, doo-wop, soul sound on the songs, The World is Crazy, and Gimmie More, which are produced by N.O. Joe. Sydnee-Jane is also touring with her live show background vocalists, The Jane-Ettes.

Releases: Sydnee-Jane’s 2nd album was released unofficially in 2008, and her introductory album, Turn Me On, was released in November 2005. Her follow up promotional EP, Turn Me On V2; 4 Tha Luv Of Muzik, caught the attention of many industry heavyweights and proved that she is here to stay.

Credits: Sydnee-Jane’s futuristic soul sounds have been featured on the albums of artist Ying Yang Twins (album Ying Yang Forever), Scarface, Big Mike (Keep it Playa), Ice Mike (Smokus Pocus), Candi Redd (Code Redd), and Your Love, the title track of the HBO Movie After-School Special to name a few.

Hey people! Im doing videos!

1. Email me at:
brownkitsune@ymail.com

2. Send 3 or 4 PICTURES of you striking a pose and being all badass.

3. When you email the pictures put your USER NAME in the
SUBJECT BOX.

4. In the MESSAGE BOX put what your GENDER is.
5. In the MESSAGE BOX put if you want to be in the LADIES/QUEENS VIDEO, GUY'S VIDEO, or / and LBGT VIDEO.

The deadline for the pictures is August 20. I most likely will not finish the video until the first week of September. If I have too many pictures to fit into the video I will make another one. So if you don't see your pic in the first vid itll be in the second. The video will be show cased on afropunk's web site sometime in September. The video should be on the front page as a feature.

Thank you for your comments. I like your music and with the old avatar you had it reminded me of the sci fi movie Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. This fits the sci fi thing you seem to have going.

As for Satanism, we are all different and I am probaby different from most because a) I see Satan as a female spirit_ a Goddess and b) I'm not into ritual magic but mysticism. I want to know what being alive is all about. We are born in darkness and most of us live our lives in darkness and when we die, we return to the dark_which is to say, the unknown. That is what Satan means to me, Goddess of the unknown. Fear of the unknown is our greatest fear but Queen Lucifer has taught me that we have no reason to fear Her. There is a great deal of light in the Dark.

My mysticism in a nutshell: In the beginning was darkness

                                              Out of darkness came light

and back into darkness, light returns

Darkness is the Mother and Destroyer of all things.

But there is a catch: you are not a thing. You are the Darkness, that unknown thing that gives rise to, sustains and destroys the visible world.

I haven't listened to your song Ready To Go in a while now. Funny how the music just comes back to me from thinking of you. It's a very cool and fun song. (I wish I could sing)

Thank you for accepting my request. I got a little carried away in my first reaction to you and thought I might have scared you off. Sometimes I trip over my own shoes and tongue.

There are a lot of super-creative people here. I think you are one. If I say anymore I'll be in danger of tasting foot so...

My first thought upon reading your comment was, wow, what a cool thing to say. Thank you.

When I took a closer look at your avatar, however, I realized that I've seen pictures of you before. I have a copy of one of them in fact in my pic library _you with the mini-you on your shoulder. I would have never dreamed that one day we'd... sort of meet.

Be this as it may, I checked out your profile and damn if you're not superstar material.

(which made your comments to me even more heavy-weight I might add}

Best of all, I checked out a few of your songs. I like you. You rock. Your music is something new, something different. I like the Syfy element, the 60s all-girl pop band style with a dash of soul. I like the outfits you and the back up ladies wear. Your very fucking creative_ to put it frankly.

I am honored and flatter by your comment, thank you very much for that. Right now, however, I have some listening to do.

I'm a little in awe of you because of your talent. I want to ask you to be my friend but I'm afraid to. Isn't that funny, me and my big, bad, Satanic self, shaking in his boots at the thought.

  What the hell...
