With influences ranging from 90's grunge to 70's R&B soul, Taiwo brings his own unique stylings to the indie rock scene. After moving to Boston, he attended the Berklee College of Music, majoring in Music Synthesis with a focus on voice. It was during this time that he began to listen bands such as Aphex Twin and Radiohead, while also gaining a greater appreciation for such electronic music pioneers such as Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and Leon Theremin.
Tai's current musical style suggest elements of The Rolling Stones, Bjork, and the Black Keys- heavily song driven and characterized by thought provoking lyrics. His versatile vocal stylings range from full on Steven Tyler-esque screams to quiet broken phrases accented by well placed pauses. Now, as he heads into the final stretch of recording for his solo album with a California tour planned for the fall, this promises to be the year that Taiwo Heard's true creative vision comes to full fruition.
Good to know that you're making it happen. We need your soul and sound for inspiration. I'm also always proud of my classmates that are meeting success. It inspires me and I'm hoping for the best for you. Peace.
