About Me: The Blackmoth is the brainchild of renaissance man Alexander F. Nilere though born in London, I spent my early years in Nigeria under the stench of military rule, seeing dead bloated bodies everywhere, the sweet smell of ‘after rain’ air, street foods graduating to weed selling for pocket money by 13yr I was only too happy to land back in London. Turning my back on all things African & absorbing the Art house bands of the 60s, 80s & 90s.
Forming the genre defying band Acacia formed with noted producer Guy Sigsworth, I toured with Bjork Aphex Twins till we split. I then put together the collective Hexadragon who blew over a million & half on an album & videos that were never released. While performing with my next Indian influenced project,
The Blackmoth Connection the frustration finally took it's toll I, collapsed on stage & was rushed to hospital only to be diagnosed with bowel cancer.
With 4 more deaths in my close family (from inherited diseases) I took stock and decided to go it alone, turn my journey into songs. Now dressed in skinhead attire but channeling Ralph Lauren I lay my bag full of regrets and boutique hotels bare.

I PUT THE HEX ON ME

Few days ago i was toasting a pitta bread for my little girl i got absorbed in something else and it burnt to a cinders, thick smoke fumes very where (it took 3 days to lose the stench), a few minutes later I was searching for instructions to her Casio wrist-watch when a large framed art collage fell on my head!!! broken glass everywhere.

Being a single parent makes what likkle time you have on your own very precious add music or some other type of artistic endeavour it becomes even more so.
