Verse Essential started rapping at the young age of 11 and has been professionally recording since 2009. The MC from New York likes to describe his music as versatile, "unexpected", rather than labeling his sound, because it "gives yourself room to grow". Being the son of a singer, Verse Essential was raised on Motown classics, which still influences his love for Hip Hop and music. His lyrics are inspired by his work, his everyday life, people's struggles, hardships and his family.
As musical influences he would list Eastcoast classics, like Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Gangstarr and Jay-Z, which clearly reflects in his New York sound, carried by his strong voice, which you will recognize in any song he's on.
He has sharpened his performing skills at open mic events and as a support act for artists such as Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz and Access Immortal, and loves to entertain the crowds.
Verse Essential puts Quality over Quantity. His first album "Ingenious" was released in May 2011 and he is currently working on a new album, to come out in 2013. In the mean time, he is putting visuals to his songs, and the fans can expect to see a lot of Verse Essential in 2012 and beyond.
Verse Essential offers everything but the norm. "I never pretended to be anything I'm not in my music because I'm a common person just like you. I ride the train, the bus and I walk the streets so I'm just like anybody else. And that's the one thing you'll pick up quick when your listening to Verse Essential. I just simply entertain"
