I'm a stand-up comedian/solo performer based out of San Francisco/Oakland. (I'm into slashes apparently.) I've been at it for a minute. In addition to doing stand-up all over (including on Comedy Central), I have a solo show called, "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour." I've been doing it for almost three years. If you bring a friend of a different race you get in 2for1.
Lots of cool people have said lots of ridiculously awesome things about me including one Mr. Vernon Reid from Living Colour (If you ever call them IN Living Color, I'll kill you where you stand.)
He said...
“W. Kamau Bell is in the vanguard of a new era of American comedy for an unsettling, troubling, and strangely hopeful time. Firmly in the fearless tradition of Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, & Chris Rock. Comedy as common sense purged of the absurd hypocrisy that is Our America.” - Vernon Reid
Crazy, huh? I've got a website with videos and blogs and inappropriate pictures (not like THAT) and lots of other stuff, but I plan on making a home here.
Also I have two comedy CD's. My newest one came out in February. It's called Face Full of Flour, and it's all about Obama and Post-Racial America (?). You can check it on iTunes and Amazon.
Here are some of my upcoming shows...

You can be my friend if...
You have a sense of humor, and you are intelligent, and you talk honestly and openly about race and racism, and you combine those three things regularly. And you better not talk smack if you can take it.
ANNNNNNNNND you can pronounce my name. It's Kamau. It rhymes with POW! Not Kamal or Jamal or Kamoo or Kamou... or Maxwell.
