About Me

I'm an expat from Atlanta living in the East End of London. I'm like a Disney princess except I'm fat, I wear black all the time, and instead of butterflies and birds swarming around my head, I get drunk people... and actors. I fuckin love ribbons - yeah, RIBBONS, dude, especially in my hair. I'm a sweet, sensitive soul but look a bit like a bad little mama from a Russ Meyer or Blacksploitation film... or more like a Coop Devil Girl - yes I'm plump-with-a-belly, not a thinny, and won't ever be so love me or leave me alone! Did I mention that I'm packed into a 5'1 frame? Yep, a shorty. Did I mention I'm American? But a cool one.

I love: film, especially Horror - go to FrightFest every year - hell, my masters dissertation is going to explore a Cultural Studies approach to the zombie apocalypse. Yeah, I love horror that much. I also love... light hiking, FX makeup and alternative beauty makeup (that's my job basically), screenwriting (that's my other job), Sunday breakfast in bed, blasting conservatives/republicans, going for coffee/tea, getting all dolled up with other chicks, lying around in the park, cocktails!, quality time with loved ones, S&M (I'm a bratty sub), house parties, dinner parties, shoes, reading, making lots of love, core intimacy, painting and general creative projects (that's my other, other job lol), children, animals, cooking (I make a mean chili), live music, being spoiled (though I am not a materialist), being a frighteningly intelllectual geek covered in a deceptive squishy, plump, big breasted package... and I loved being a smoker but I hadda give it up.

I dislike: marmite, selfishness, body fascists, disability intolerance, race used as western cultural signifiers, lack of interpersonal maturity, porn addicts/sex addiction, stiff hugs/limp handshakes, plus people who can't hold their liquor and do stupid shit, people who won't dance with me even if I beg, lack of imagination, financially stingy people, and men who hit women (outside of S&M of course).

MA Cultural and Critical Studies student and intern at The Arts Catalyst (I know, I know, that's not an occupation, but for now it is), formerly fx makeup artist, painter, writer, and wage slave.

Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters, early Stevie Wonder, Killswitch Engage, Tenacious D, Joy Division, James Brown, Bloc Party, Slipknot, early Bowie, Bo Diddley, Amy Winehouse, Link Wray, Etta James, The Ramones, Depeche Mode, John Coltrane, Morrissey, Goldfrapp... jesus, you name it; rock, classic metal, classic rock, old school punk, old school hip hop, rockabilly, thrash, bluegrass, and even a bit of neo-soul, I generally like it.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Halloween, Switchblade Romance, 2001, Dawn of the Dead (original and 2004 Snyder remake), A Bittersweet Life, Boogie Nights, Crooklyn, The Thing, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Calvaire, Alien, Aliens, Goodfellas, 28 Days Later - Early Carpenter, Scorsese, Tarantino, Danny Boyle, Early Ridley Scott, Kubrick, you know, the heavy hitters.

Favorite books:

The Red Tent, Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague, The Stand, The Bluest Eye, It, She's Come Undone, Wicked, Whilte Teeth, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, The Poisonwood Bible... and many, many, more. I am a lover of books, particularly fiction.

Favorite Magazines:

I generally don't read magazines because they are predominantly garbage, in my opinion, but I do like to read Metal and Hammer every once in a while.

Supernatural, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Battlestar Galactica (remake of course), American Horror Story
