About Me
Chris Gilmore, known by his stage name, ‘FluiD’, is a Kansas City, MO., based industrial and electronic hip-hop musician, sound-designer and cultural activist. A self-described, "Afro-futurist". His first album 'Warhol' was released was in 1988 and since that time has released over a dozen albums. His 2011 release, 'Envisioning Abstraction: the Duality of FluiD' (ALRN008), received international
crtical acclaim.

FluiD's music, encompasses a multitude of styles and influences - techno, jazz, noise, classical avant-garde, hip-hop, psychedelia, metal, dub, early industrial and ambient. It is often referred to as "post industrial hip-hop".

In addtion to his many releases, FluiD has also performed throughout North America and Central America, from concert halls to art galleries to dance clubs. He was also a featured performer at several music festivals including, 'experi-MENTAL Festival' (Brooklyn, NY.), 'Noise Shock: Abstract Art and Music Festival' (East Moline, IL.), 'Under the Radar - experimental/industrial/electronic music exposition' (Kansas City, MO.) and 'Spark: Festival of Electronic Music and Arts' (Minneapolis, MN.).

Collaboration is very much a part of Chris Gilmore's aesthetic sensibility, and some of his recent projects are collaborations. The video project 'Paramnesia I' was created by Heejoo Kim with Chris Gilmore provding the sound-design and musical score. The video was nominated for Best Experimental Film at the Female Eye Film Festival (Toronto, Canada). Another recent collaboration was with Samantha
Hill a transdisciplinary artist from Chicago, IL. Chris provided the soundtrack to 'The Gift Project Chicago', an installation created by Samantha Hill based on the photography of Patrick McCoy. He has also collaborared wtih the Brooklyn, NY collective PAS. The results of that collaboratoin can be heard on the PAS release, 'PAS - Reconstruction' (ALRN023).

As an African-American Creole, splitting and double coding are familiar to him as are smooth transitions. FluiD follows the path of subduxtion, using jazz-rock as well as dub, trip-hop and illbient. WWW.JETFUELFORREVOLUTION.COM

WE ARE EVERYWHERE
IN THE DNA OF MANY NATIONS
AND WE MAKE THE PLANET ROCK
GIVE IT THAT COOL TILT ON ITS ROTATION
WE RUN CORPORATIONS
WE RUN THE STREETS
WE RUN POPULAR CULTURE
WE ARE BIGGER THAN YOU HATERS
AND THIS MOMENT IN HISTORY
IS BIGGER THAN US
YOU NEED TO BE DOWN
AND BECOME LOVERS
BECAUSE LOVE IS STRONGER THAN HATE
DIDN'T YOU SEE "DO THE RIGHT THING"?
HATE....KNOCKED OUT BY LOVE
IT'S A PAINT THE WHITE HOUSE PARTY
AND YOU ARE INVITED
IMAGINE THE COLORS
IMAGINE THEM RUNNING
BLEEDING TOGETHER
THE WAY WE BLEED TOGETHER
IN WAR
BLEEDING FROM THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A NEW WHITE HOUSE
AND NOT THE DESTRUCTION
OF US ALL
OBAMA-VISION IS ON
WATCH IT AND DON'T BLINK
YOU WILL SEE THE PAST
AND THE LESSONS IT'S TAUGHT US
YOU WILL SEE THE PRESENT
AND WHAT IT HAS WROUGHT US
AND YOU WILL SEE THE FUTURE
AND US DANCING IN THE DISTANCE
DANCE WITH US
TO THE RHYTHM
OF A NEW HEARTBEAT!

FINALLY, A DEFINITE ALTERNATIVE!
