Everyones needs to check out this band from Atlanta called ODIST. They play experimental progressive rock music. Their sound has elements of jazz (screaming guitar replacing screaming sax). They really push the envelope. They seem to have taken ISIS and The Mars Volta a step further. They have a "Wall of Sound" ala John Coletrane (there goes that jazz reference again).
