Charlotte’s Lucky Five is composed of Marques Nash on lead vocals and keys, Shago Elizondo on guitar and backing vocals, Jonny Fung on guitar, keys and backing vocals, Andy Morimoto on bass and Jesse Williams on drums… Lucky Five is about thought provoking, timely lyrics with “knock you on your ass vocals, blazing musicianship with intricate weavings and improvisation to create their original sound”. Added in the mix are interpretations of a couple of great covers to stretch and enrich your senses… you’ll find Lucky Fives’ sound to be an amalgam of rock, funk, pop, r&b, and blues. The band has earned high praise for their mind blowing live shows and tight grooves that reach across all social barriers without respect to labels, fads or tired ass categorizing. The band simply lives and loves to play music. They don’t conform or try and imitate what some say “sells” and they sure as fuck don’t compromise!
What people are saying :
"Don't let the boy band look fool you: Lucky Five from Charlotte, NC are a great live band. These kids rock with the honesty of the Busboys and intensity of Fishbone with riffs rivaling Carlos Santana making for an overwhelming wall of energetic sound. By combining funk, metal and prog rock, these youngsters got hooks for the girls and musicianship for the guys. A must see."

“Charlotte - area quintet, Lucky Five's soul licked blues takes cues from classic blues-rock of the late 60's along with jam sentiments of contemporary rockers. Although these youngsters play and sound as if they have been around a hell of a lot longer than a couple of years. With dual guitars, a bopping rhythm section and a thick- voiced singer/keyboardist, Lucky Five's got the chops and the moxie for the long haul”…

Lord Q here, Founder of LA PUNK NOIR and LAPUNKNOIR.com. In an effort to promote Black and Brown bands and artists that don’t fit within the narrow perceptions of mainstream radio, I have started an online show, LPN RADIO. I am writing to ask that your band submit songs and links to your site to be featured on the show.
As you may be aware, LPN is the hub of West Coast Alternative Urban music, news and style. For bands and artists that Black radio has no room for and mainstream radio is afraid of, the LPN platform is available to you. LPN RADIO features alternative urban bands in the genres of rock, punk, metal and alternative hip-hop. I am also interested in introducing your band, via the LPN interview series, Q:15, a daily 15 minute segment, where two songs of featured guests are played, with an interview in between.
If your band is interested in these opportunities, follow the submission guidelines:
mail to: lapunknoir@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Lord Q
What up Afro-Punker!
I manage the Los Angeles based metal band, BRAIN DEAD BUROCKRACY (BDB), and could use your help.
In the DIY spirit, we are booking gigs throughout the States for April, May and June and want to gig in your town. Might you be interested in co-producing a show with us? Pretty much, you pick the best place, small venues (200 cap.), and we work out development and marketing together. Great opportunity to bring some Black rockers to your town, and we may even make a little gas money. Also, as Founder and Creative Director of LA PUNK NOIR, I am able to provide your band with exposure via our Official site, as well, as host a performance before an enthusiastic LPN crowd, should you have an interest in coming to L.A. Any help/advice would be great.
Consider and connect.
Peace,
Lord Q
