About Me
My name's DeAndré, with an accent not an apostrophe. I love my whole name (though at times I don't know what to do with it) and the general consensus is that it is unique. I communicate in the negative, read the printer-friendly versions of web pages and enjoy life's little ironies. I generally don't pay ignorance any mind.

A few interests: People with heart, soul, conscience, Art(istic expression) of all forms, Chillin', Tea, Photography, Strong women of color, Music, My brothers past, present, and future, Films that drive me to tears, Travel, eccentric blackness, UrbEx, Rationality, spontaneity, transcending boundaries, critical pedagogy, (African) visual culture.

Perhaps I can best be summarized as a walking contradiction beyond comprehension. Yebo...
You can be my friend if...
...you meet any of the following criteria: The profound. Passionate people who enjoy the arts and good music, people who are real chill and awesome and enjoy adventure/don't fear getting lost. Also, nuns. Ooh, and pretty boys who can roll their hips...'tis sexy. Hell, surprise me.

well, it's good to know that even tired you look pretty amazing. Good luck with fixing your friend's bike. I'm kinda a-technical, so I usually walk my bike to the first bike-repair shop in the area for the smallest thing. Are you planning to see Janelle Monae next month?

Thanks for the add and thanks for contributing on Afro Punks of Chicago. I'm really happy about how much the group has grown. Good luck with school.

no, it was at the university of south florida--i'm in florida. the black graduate association there has these weekly discussions/panels on hot button and/or pertinent issues related to the community. it was intense because try as we may--we ended up right back at the bible and some late-coming dude going on and on about The Book in an aggressive and adamant tone and we were all exasperated like man, didn't we tackle the whole soddom and gomorrah thing earlier already? sheesh! so yeah, i just think it's interesting how any discussion with black people and sexuality tends to end up right back at the pulpit. without fail.
