The Bush League is a blues/ rock 4-piece band out of Richmond, VA. 2012 semi-finalists in the 28th annual International Blues Challenge sponsored by The Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN. Participated in 2011 IBC's as well as lead singer JohnJay Cecil and guitarist Shane Parch formed as delta-blues acoustic duo Sleepy Eyed Jay & Chicago Slim in the 2010 IBC's. Having blues as the foundation of the band's musical inspiration (their 1st original song, 'Don't Touch My Liquor' is loosely based on the stylings of Junior Kimbrough), their original material; anchored by the rhythm section of Debbie Flood on drums and Royce Folks on bass, range through genres that blues music has influenced; rock and roll, funk, punk and soul.
The Bush League has one studio album, 'Can Of Gas & A Match' released on 12.11.12 and two live CD's, 'The Bush League - LIVE at The National 10.28.10' and 'The Bush League ROCKS - LIVE at The National 04.09.11' to their credit in their 7 years together.
Playing regionally in the mid-Atlantic, The Bush League is looking to expand their territory and bring their version of a down-home good time to as many people out there that's looking to have one!
