The Clown Prince in NyC

Profile Information

Name
CHiF - The Clown Prince
About Me
I am currently in NYC on a writing/recording/gigging/experiencing trip...and would like to meet like minded, open minded creatives and people. So contact me and lets do something different

Here is a lil blurb about me and my band -

The Clown Prince is a two man band from East London who have been hailed as one of the bands to watch this year.
Frontman CHiF received critical acclaim with his debut EP LiL CHiF “Soon Come” and has now turned the heat up with this sophomore release.

Described as AfRaPunK, it blends punk rebellion with hip hop swagger all mixed in an East London melting pot.

“Put Em Up” celebrates being young, going out with your mates and generally having a good time, with sing-a-long catchy choruses akin to an East End knees up in a pub somewhere in Hoxton.

“It’s a colourful set-up thanks to a love of crazy costume and outrageous live shows. Already boasting a loyal following in London, CHiF along with The Clown Prince (his band) are set to become one of the most original urban music acts of recent times.”
- Rachel White

What the critics think of CHiF..............

“Those of you who have welcomed musical experimentation from the likes of
Outkast and Kanye West will definitely find something to entertain you here.”
– Ryan Proctor, Blues & Soul

“Unpredictable beats and subject matter makes for some different and interesting hip-hop, this Chif is real good and mad different.” – Russell Myrie, The Voice

“A musician’s producer. A unique artist leading the new wave of UK Hip Hop with his definitive stamp of authority on it. Definitely one to watch.” – Nesha, BBC Radio 1Xtra

“I'm sure that with the right support Chif will go a long way. His ethos is about being different, but having integrity. A joy to listen too” - Lawrence Lartey, Touch Magazine

“When London rapper Lil Chif suggested people think he's coming a bit like 'a British Andre 3000', I can surely be forgiven for thinking 'whatever'? But after actually listening, I have to hold my hands up; he's doing this thing. (4/5)” – Chantelle Fiddy (London Paper)

I produce a show on WHFR.fm public radio in Detroit that streams globally playing Black Rock/Alternative/Afropunk/Indie music.  I'd like to include your music and maybe even have you in for an in-studio performance when you're in the area.  Feel free to mail tunes or a press kit to me at the station, or send me your digital tunes, and I'll be happy to get them on the air.

Things are good w. me. I'm back in the Heartland (Midwest of the U.S.), which is a horse of a different colour. Provincial, yet refreshingly straightforward. Simple, but easy. It all depends on how you look at it. ;>

How's your trip so far? I left the Big Apple yesterday! A long-needed pilgrimage before I make my triumphant return later this year. Are you performing in the City?
