Eating lunch in my office alone. Payday. Finally. I noticed the shell station by my work has hired white people to work there. They started a little pizza shop on the inside and this spindly white dude makes the pizzas. They sell slices of course. Then today I went to get gas and there was a redneck rocker chick at the register. Which is usually an Indian man, she had on a shirt with profanity on it, and told me I looked tired. BITCH WHO YOU CALLIN TIRED!

This is from a questionnaire I had to answer from BOOKLYN Artists Alliance, a book art project in Brooklyn NY. I wrote the response last year, in February 2008. It's basically about why I bother to write my zine, Shotgun Seamstress.
Shotgun Seamstress is a zine for people more or less like myself: Black, queer,
feminist, artist, musician, outsider. It is a zine primarily for Black people who
do not fit into white people's stereotypes of what a Black person should be, and… Continue

There were a lot of reasons you chose to come to earth, Lyn, and I am super happy to tell you that not one of them was to master being poor, lonely, or sick. Incidentally, neither did you have any intention of living your life without a Condo in Miami.
Clutch!
You came to "kick butt," Lyn...

I hit up the confessional this morning and couldn't believe what I read. I mean are these women BLIND? Fools, all of them fools. I'm getting wary of the whole long distance thing, but in my own defense I strike things up with guys in south Florida where I want to move to. So it's like a motivation to get there quicker. Nothing has worked out. Nothing has worked out in 7 years. In 08' I made it a point to be more 'proactive' about my love life… Continue
I am so excited about my scout trip to albuquerque.
I have printed out the information I need to get around on the transit system. I need to test it out, to get a sense of how well I can get around until I am able to afford a car after moving to Albuquerque this summer. I did find out they have zip car, so that will help some.
I intend on having my dl by the middle of next month, so I will have some time to get some driving under my belt. I am going to get a zipcar account… Continue
