My extreme powers of introspection have lead me to look up exactly what personality disorder I have (and it's not like hack counselors are going to come up with this)
I had it narrowed down between schizotypal and schizoid personality disorders. The two are damn near the same thing except with one big difference: "The difference between the two seems to be that those labeled as Schizotypal avoid social interaction because of a deep-seated fear of people. The Schizoid individual… Continue
Real quick, I wanted say some shit, maybe somethin important, like about government politics and extortion. But I got 3 minutes before my time today is done. Maybe tomorrow I'll be back like Maya, as the sun rises so shall I. Or so I'll try but I'll be in another state and that is not the same state that is the same state as in state of mind - and yet then in again who said that my state of mind is not to say the same as my state of being. So if you'll feeling how I'm seeing then you already… Continue

Benga is the shit. There is this whole new scene happening out in UK called Dubstep. You may have heard of it, mainly cause people get banged hard at the parties (and banged I mean shot to death, I'm sure the other thing happens too), but its more rather the music I want to discuss with this artist in particular. His real name is Beni Uthman, 21, although he may just be a young buck he has been making moves all over the place since age 15. His current release Diary of an… Continue

I'm REAL horny and my girlfriend doesn't make the sex with me. Then I get the wandering eye. But i look, don't touch. I think, don't touch. (I sniff....dont' touch. lol)
We've been together for two years. Last summer I went out with this girl; we had a mutual friend who was supposed to show up but flaked. (Betch.) Anyway, a few drinks later (I had more than she did. she bought me drinks. She got me drunk.) She, of course, kissed me. And here i'm like 'whoa that was hot. but that… Continue
I was thinking about this on my back from Denver earlier today (more on the family thing in another blog post)...
I am interested in starting or contributing to an international artists network through the Afro-Punk community.
I was involved in skill share events in California and I think it would be cool if there was a way that I could contribute to this community and receive support in other ways beyond friending and posting videos.
So I kept notes of the good, the bad and the better throughout the entire 8 day festival. I was working the Afropunk merch table the whole time, which allowed me a great view of every concert. Applause to everyone who stopped by and supported AP! And I even send love to the folks who tried to weasel their way into a free t-shirt...a festival wouldn't be complete without y'all.
Now on to the music.
Afropunk Day 1 - 7/5/08 - Great kickoff! Janelle Monae is a strong,… Continue
Some info I gleemed from various sources about him.
Manuel Lopes Andrade, a.k.a. Tcheka, was born on the 20th July 1973 in the port of Ribeira Barca, Santa Catarina district, on Santiago, the most African island of the Cape Verde archipelago. One of the first pieces he wrote, “Man’ba des bes kumida dâ”, gave a clear idea of the musical path he wished to follow. His aim was to widen the appeal of batuque, turning it into a beat that everyone would love. His… Continue

I want you to stop, take a deep breath and recap whatever day(s) you went to the festival. and then tell me about the bands you liked, memorable moments, pits, demos, bails, and other random facts that you liked (or disliked) about the festival.
