DIY Fashion: Make Jersey Insert Denim Shorts

I bought some vintage Levis off Ebay that are a tad too small and refused to give them up. I decided to use them as an incentive to workout a little harder at the gym until I spotted these Helmut Lang jersey insert denim shorts. And presto, the DIY was born. My rib cage thanks you, Helmut Lang.

INTERVIEW: Ted Woods, Director of 'White Wash' Documentary About Black Surfers

If you are looking for a film that will push your thinking and help create conversations around race, class and history, I have a couple of suggestions. First, don’t bother buying a ticket to the film The Help (if I am too late my sincerest condolences). Secondly, check your local listings to find the film White Wash. White Wash is a documentary that looks at… Continue

Black Witch: "Stop Asking Me!"

As a diviner, I love getting a plethora of questions – but not always. Sometimes I'd rather be much left alone instead of sought out for advice or getting a constant question and/or from a constant person which makes me wanna pack up and go home.

The question that I get waaaaaaaaaay too constantly as a diviner? Love or death but love has got to take the cake along with the pastry shop it sits in and the bakery it came from. Too many love questions, far too…

Nick Cave's Soundsuits In New York

Artist/dancer Nick Cave's eccentric "Soundsuits" are in New York until October 22nd! The suits are sculptural costumes/forms that the artist sees as "an exuberant second skin that conceals race, gender, and class" and a "Shamanic", functified freak show. Head to Mary Boone Gallery already. Fashion, art, music at once... go see them for yourself.

Occupy Wall Street: Preoccupied with an Empire State of Mind

Since September 17th, a long occupation has been happening in NYC and is starting to spread all over the nation, and even bits and pieces of the world: Occupy Wall Street. There has been stirring among the people of America and the rest of the world that I think all of us can relate to in one way or another – hard time finding a job; college feels more like a bait and switch scheme titled “The American Dream” than a pass to bigger and better things; bills, loans and collectors… Continue

Media Project Update

This shit is deep.

That is all I can really say.

I started working on this project about two weeks ago, and the intense information I have dug up is simply blowing my mind.

I am scared for society. It doesn't matter who, what, or how, whoever controls the media, controls the minds and hearts of everyone involved in the process.

I just realized, that I truly never have to protest anything, I can just document what is…
