Souls sitting in silence are as useless as an appendix Being perched above a fire full of sticks It makes me sick when people suddenly don’t know how to speak Because they’re so untrusting of another soul that they build walls around them To me, it makes them weak I seek a person who can hold an intelligent conversation With connotations of sensations of creepy pulsations So strong that they run down my spine And in time, we find that we knew each other all… Continue

So I just went to one of the best places in NOLA, an abandoned paper factory by the river. We cycled with two cat people on our tandem over there and watched the sunset. Good holiday.
I had a pretty successful show in Los Angeles, I sold most of the pieces off, which'll pay for posting at the very least.
I managed to get a couple posters done for some friends.
As we end the year look back at a lost musical gem the unreleased, till now, Slack Republic album.
"Recorded in the early winter of 2006, these 9 songs are part of the final and incomplete works of The Slack Republic. The best possible effort was made to compile these songs into the closest representation of the album they were written for.
sporadic rejection of posts. Sometimes posts show up, other times the spinning icon slows to a speed reminiscent of dialup. I usually give up after about 2 minutes. Tried sending an email related to this, but the same thing happened.
Sometimes when I go to reply to a post, no text box appears and the icons on the page stretch out.
Surah 31:18 "And swell not thy cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth; for Allah loveth not any arrogant boaster.
My Dream Guy:
Someone who exhibits self-consciousness, who understands his strengths and weaknesses, and more importantly uses this knowledge of self to improve upon faults that he possesses and nurtures his strengths accordingly.
Someone who appreciates his heritage and is proud of it, yet is open-minded enough to want to… Continue
Today is the first day i've wore my hair natural at work. It's early so there aren't many people here yet. But already i'm starting to get looks. Most of which are people just staring at my hair trying to figure it out. Their faces are so funny. Kinda like they're thinking really hard on the toliet. Haha but anywho they don't say anything about it, just stare. I guess they're so use to me with permed staighten hair. I've been off of perms for about 10 months now but i would still flat iron it… Continue
If you cannot come first,
Try not to be counted as last. .
If nobody is with you,
Try not to be hated by all. .
If you cannot rise up
Try not to fall down. .
If you are not the best,
]Try not to be worst.

Aside from being blatantly insulted by friends, family and complete strangers for having lip piercings, a red mohawk , and considerably different, dare I say, diverse, taste in music. Pop culture rubs me all sides of the wrong way. Anyway, I haven't watched BET in almost 10 year and still, if I turned to it within the prime time block of 2pm-9pm, I'd be greeted with the same dribble I saw then and the main reason I stopped watching it in the 1st place. And to all my peers: If I don't like and… Continue

Obviously I'm new here and there are no 'friends' requests yet, not that I expect any during this time of the year when everyone is having their Christmas and New Years with a loved one or whatever.
So, I'm an Alternative Electronic/Rock Singer/Songwriter who's record Nothing Sweeter is going to be released in March which will be upon us ridiculously soon that actually gives me time to plan out a tour later on this year. The reason I joined this site is because, I am always constantly in… Continue

1. be more glam. make-up, high heels. hair. earrings. more skirts. more fashion conscious. nail polish. etc. etc.

3. more body acceptance. i'm doing pretty well with this so far. but i refuse to keep hating my belly and the moles on my face. people paid me and my… Continue
Ever since around 2002, I’ve been a fan of Kansas City, MO rapper Tech N9ne. His album Absolute Power was released on my 18th birthday, and that album changed my perspective on rap. I’ve even referred to his music as “progressive rap” due to the eclectic nature and lyrical references. Aside from Steve Vai, Randy Rhodes and various guitarists in Heavy Metal, Tech’s speed rap technique was very influential on my wanting to play faster guitar. A common theme through a good amount of Tech’s albums… Continue

For a man who's name evokes intensity with a shield of mystery, Saul Williams' single presence can quiet an entire room packed with people crossing all racial demographics. Making history with Afro-punk as the headliner of the 2009 U.S. tour, Saul Williams seemed like the perfect candidate to represent our idea of freedom of expression fused with tossing out racial boundaries and social norms.…
Yesterday the car officially went bye bye. I didn't cry. I was just really sad all day. I feel naked totally without it. I got $400 and spent half of it already on groceries and replacing stuff that needed it and hair. Sometimes I get antsy and call a cab.
I want to get new clothes but that isn't likely. I went to the salvation army and there wasn't a thing in there. sadness.
The exotic BP guy I don't think is going to happen. My second sense tells me he's not a very nice… Continue
