'Black Traffic'. That's the title of classic UK rock band Skunk Anansie's upcoming album, to be released on September 17 (the first to be released through their own label, in partnership with 100% Records). Lead singer Skin says it better: "We've wanted to be in charge of our own destiny for many years. The doom and gloom merchants may whine about the music industry, but we've seen it as a positive chance to re-invent how we work and take more control over our art form. (...)…
All the fuss seems to be about Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee... Whateva, the best part was Grace Jones performing her timeless banger 'Slave To The Rhythm'. She showed up eccentric as ever, hula-hooped throughout the song, and best of all, didn't seem to know why she was there: she wished the Queen a "happy birthday" at the end (watch video below). The Queen's birthday is April 21, isn't it? Love ya Grace...
In other news, The Guardian reports that "long-term…

These are shows you don't wanna miss when they hit your town, boyz and girlz! Grounbreaking bands Fishbone and Death Grips are on tour. No, not together (wouldn't that be fierce, though?). Apocalyptic rebels Death Grips are doing a mini West Coast tour with AP member B.L.A.C.K.I.E., while Fishbone is still on their mission to bring twisted ska-funk-rock hotness to the world, one city at a time. Check out their tour dates below! - L C-D…

Who loves Sade here? Ah c'mon fuckers, you know you've cried to "No Ordinary Love" and kissed to "Smooth Operator", don't try to act all tough now. Besides, if there's one artist who doesn't seem to care about trends and label politics when creating her songs, it's Ms. Adu. Well she's coming to a city near you! And you know that only happens once in a blue moon (it's been 10 years since they toured the U.S., and 17 years since their last European tour). Got your tickets? They will… Continue

Last night Theophilus played the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn after his network television debut on David Letterman. I decided to give him another chance, check him out and see how his show had tighten up since I saw him last year. 3rd song… Continue
